Facade restoration: how to do it with CAMP

Ripristino delle facciate: come farlo con CAMP

The facades of buildings are continuously exposed to the action of atmospheric agents, such as wind, rain and humidity which determine their progressive deterioration.

To these is added smog which contributes to the degradation of materials and the alteration of their appearance.

Let's discover the main problems together and how to solve them with CAMP products.

RESTORATION OF FACADES AFFECTED BY MOLD, MOSS AND LICHENS

Due to the constant action of atmospheric agents, facades undergo an inevitable process of alteration. Often, especially on more porous materials and surfaces or on north-facing facades, there is the formation of mould, moss and lichens.

The CAMP solution

  • Remove Mold for the removal of stains and blackening
  • Mold Control Restoring  to heal the support in depth and counteract the regrowth of biological pollutants such as mould, algae, moss and lichens over time
  • Hydro Pro to protect facades from the aggression of heavy rain and humidity

RESTORATION OF FACADES THAT PRESENT SALINE EFFLORESCENCE

humid and aqueous component present in the masonry parts of buildings tends, over time, to evaporate and cause the water-soluble salts that cause efflorescence to come to the surface.

The CAMP solution

  • AfterPosa for cleaning and removing efflorescence from stones and acid-resistant materials
  • Hydro Pro AS to protect materials from the formation of efflorescence over time

CLEANING OF FACADES DEGRADED BY SMOG AND POLLUTION

Atmospheric pollution acts on materials, contributing to the degradation process. Facades often have stains and blackening caused essentially by smog.

The CAMP solution

  • Alcadet for cleaning and removing blackening from smog
  • Hydro Pro to protect natural stones and absorbent materials over time

WATERPROOFING TERRACES AND BALCONIES

Very often the appearance of a facade is compromised by water infiltrations from balconies and terraces. Adequate maintenance helps prevent material detachment and structural damage.

The CAMP solution

  • Proter a highly penetrating water repellent, developed with Nanotech technology that consolidates and protects the surfaces of terraces, balconies, facades and floors. The product saturates the macroporosities of the supports and prevents water infiltration.

CONSOLIDATION OF FACADES MADE OF PLASTER AND FLEAKING MATERIALS

A widespread problem is that of chalking and possible deterioration of facade covering materials. In particular plaster, clay bricks or porous and crumbling stones such as tuff and Lecce stone.

This type of material, with time and exposure to atmospheric agents, is subject to a process of chalking and degradation.In fact, water and humidity trigger alteration phenomena and the materials produce dust, a clear sign of deterioration.

The CAMP solution

  • Compatto Eco protective consolidant that does not alter the appearance of the facade and preserves the breathability of the materials

THE FACADE BONUS

Camp products for the care and maintenance of materials fall within the Facade Bonus decree (contained in the 2020 budget law) which allows a tax deduction equal to 90% of the expenses incurred.

The recovery or restoration interventions on external facades allowed are:

  • the consolidation, restoration and renewal of the constituent elements of the external façade of the building, which exclusively constitute the opaque vertical structure, as well as the sole cleaning and painting of the surface;
  • the consolidation, restoration, including only the cleaning and painting of the surface, or the renewal of the constituent elements of the balconies, ornaments and friezes;
  • the works attributable to urban decoration such as those relating to gutters, downspouts, parapets, cornices and the arrangement of all the plant parts that insist on the opaque part of the facade.
