Facade restoration: how to do it with CAMP

Ripristino delle facciate: come farlo con CAMP

Building façades are continuously exposed to the action of atmospheric agents, such as wind, rain and moisture, which cause them to deteriorate.

To these is added smog, which contributes to the degradation of materials and the alteration of their appearance.

We discover together the main problems and how to solve them with CAMP products.

RESTORATION OF FACADES AFFECTED BY MUDS, MUSKS AND LICHENS

Because of the constant action of atmospheric agents, façades undergo an inevitable process of alteration. Mould, mosses and lichens often form, especially on more porous materials and surfaces or on north-facing façades.

The CAMP solution

  • Mould Remover for removing stains and blackening
  • Mould Control Restore to deeply restore the substrate and counteract the regrowth of biological pollutants such as mould, algae, moss and lichen over time
  • Hydro Pro to protect facades from the aggression of driving rain and humidity

RESTORATION OF FACADES PRESENTING SALINE EFFLORESCENCE

Wet, watery component present in the masonry parts of buildings tends, with the passage of time, to evaporate and water-soluble salts that cause efflorescence to appear on the surface.

The CAMP solution

  • AfterApplication for cleaning and removing efflorescence from stone and acid-resistant materials
  • Hydro Pro AS to protect materials from efflorescence formation over time

CLEANING OF FACADES DEGRADED BY SMOKE AND POLLUTION

Air pollution acts on materials and contributes to the degradation process. Facades often show stains and blackening caused mainly by smog.

The CAMP solution

  • Alcadet for cleaning and removal of smog blackening
  • Hydro Pro to protect natural stone and absorbent materials over time

PERMEABILISATION OF TERRACES AND BALCONIES

Very often the appearance of a façade is compromised by water infiltration from balconies and terraces. Proper maintenance helps to prevent material detachment and structural damage.

The CAMP solution

  • Proter a high penetration water repellent developed with Nanotech technology that consolidates and protects terrace, balcony, façade and floor surfaces. The product saturates the macroporosity of substrates and prevents water infiltration.

CONSOLIDATION OF FACADES CONSTRUCTED FROM CHALKING PLASTERS AND MATERIALS

A widespread problem is the chalking and possible deterioration of façade cladding materials. Particularly plasters, brickwork or porous and crumbling stones such as tuff and Lecce stone.

With time and exposure to the elements, these types of materials are subject to a process of chalking and degradation.In fact, water and humidity trigger alteration phenomena and the materials produce a powder, a clear sign of deterioration.

The CAMP solution

  • Compatto Eco protective consolidant that does not alter the appearance of the façade and preserves the breathability of materials

The Facade BONUS

Camp products for the care and maintenance of materials are covered by the Facades Bonus Decree (contained in the 2020 Budget Law), which allows a tax deduction of 90% of the expenses incurred.

Recovery or restoration work on external facades permitted are:

  • the consolidation, restoration and renovation of the constituent elements of the external façade of the building, constituting exclusively the vertical opaque structure, as well as the cleaning and painting of the surface only;
  • the consolidation, restoration and renovation of the constituent elements of the external façade of the building, constituting exclusively the vertical opaque structure, as well as the cleaning and painting of the surface only;
  • the consolidation, restoration and painting of the surface only
  • the consolidation, restoration, including only cleaning and painting of the surface, or renovation of the constituent elements of balconies, ornaments and friezes;
